To be able to tattoo in a shop within Australia, studios have to abide by strict hygiene and infection control standards to be able to keep their doors open and service the public.
It’s important that you are responsible for your own health, if you are sick or unwell, DO NOT go to a tattoo appointment - and make sure you let the studio know. Keep your hands clean by washing them or using hand sanitizer and stop touching your face (this is so hard to do!!). If you are comfortable wearing a mask, feel free to do so, some studios may be wearing masks and goggles to protect themselves as well.
Keep your distance where possible - 1.5meters people! Obviously this isn’t possible when your artist is inking your skin, so some studios may be doing shorter tattooing times, and a bigger piece may be done in stages.
Some studios (in line with each states requirements) may need to take down your details (name, phone number and date of visit) for contact tracing purposes, this is for your safety - just in case contact with the Covid-19 is made in a studio.
